Michigan Inpatient Drug Rehab

Inpatient Drug Rehabs in MichiganThe first step in overcoming an issue with drug abuse is first admitting that there’s a problem. After that, there’s the matter of selecting the correct avenue to seek rehabilitative treatment. When it comes to treatment, there are two general avenues – outpatient or inpatient. While both prove to be effective in individuals committed to overcoming addiction, inpatient is generally the more intensive of the two. Where as with outpatient treatment, a person is permitted to live their lives as normal, aside from a few meetings and counseling sessions per week, inpatient, or residential, treatment involves a person moving into a treatment center for 30, 60, 90 or 120 days.

There are thousands of inpatient treatment centers all over the country – and several qualified facilities in the state of Michigan to help individuals in the Great Lakes State. Individuals must voluntarily enter residential treatment centers. The daily routines consists of individual therapy and counseling, group therapy and counseling and participating in other activities that aim to replace negative habits with positive ones. While many may be scared off by the commitment of at least 30 days involving inpatient treatment centers, the facilities, while intensive, also are very emotionally supportive. Because inpatient treatment is essentially around the clock treatment, it’s best for individuals who are either attempting rehabilitative treatment for the first time or for those who have attempted to overcome addiction through outpatient treatment in the past, yet have relapsed.

Drug abuse is a nationwide problem, and the state of Michigan is no exception. Here’s a closer look at the problem in Michigan and some of the treatment centers that offer inpatient treatment.
