Rhode Island Inpatient Drug Rehab

Inpatient Drug Rehabs in Rhode IslandOutpatient or inpatient? It’s a critical question for individuals looking to overcome a drug addiction and seeking treatment. Outpatient is the more popular choice, as it’s also the more convenient choice that allows an individual to live life as they normally would, aside from attending a few meetings and counseling sessions per week. Then there’s inpatient treatment, a more intensive type of corrective rehabilitation that actually admits an individual for 30, 60, 90 or up to 120 days. Inpatient treatment, which is also known as residential treatment, consists of around the clock monitoring and therapy and aims to replace negative stimuli – which may have led to an individual’s substance abuse issues in the first place – with positive stimuli.

While both inpatient and outpatient can be effective, it ultimately comes down to the individual and their needs. For instance, for those that just want to get the maximum level of treatment right from the get-go, inpatient treatment is the better option. For those who have dabbled in outpatient therapy in the past and then relapsed, inpatient therapy has the potential to treat the addiction for good. Rhode Island might be the smallest state in the union, but like the rest of America, it’s not immune to the drug dependence challenges that millions of people across the nation experience. And there’s no shortage of inpatient treatment facilities in the state to treat the individuals that voluntarily enter such rehabilitation centers.

Rhode Island Drug Abuse

It’s estimated that as many as 33,000 Rhode Island residents experienced illicit drug dependence or drug abuse within the past year. Furthermore, an estimated 27,000 residents should be seeking treatment for drug dependence, but currently are not. It’s clear evidence that while Rhode Island might be the nation’s smallest state in terms of area, its population faces the same problems that all other states across the nation do.

Rhode Island Inpatient Drug Rehabilitation Centers

Rhode Island is home to several dozen drug rehabilitation centers, several of which offer inpatient treatment. Rhode Island’s capital city of Providence leads the state with 13 treatment facilities, two of which offer inpatient treatment. This includes Providence Center Rehabilitation Services on Howard Avenue, which offers both short-term residential treatment of 30 days or less and long-term treatment options varying from 60 to 120 days. The facility specializes in holistic and alternative treatments and its niche is providing addiction services to those of the Christian faith. Providence’s other inpatient rehab facility is MAP Behavioral Services Inc. on Burnett Street, which offers long-term residential treatment of either 60, 90 or 120 days. Like Providence Center Rehabilitation Services, MAP treats patients for substance abuse via holistic and alternative means. It also specializes in dual diagnosis treatment, addiction treatment for Christians and treatment for individuals with HIV/AIDS.

Elsewhere throughout the state of Rhode Island, there’s Bridgemark Inc. in Warwick. The center offers both short-term residential treatment of 30 days or less to long-term treatment options of 60, 90 or 120 days. The center treats both men and women, including court ordered addiction treatment. It also offers patients the option for aftercare addiction treatment via halfway houses and sober living facilities.
