Rehabilitation and Recovery

Help addicts and families find answers that work.

I drove after work to a bar with one of the other cooks. We each had
three shots of Jameson and a pitcher of Guinness. He left to go home
with his girlfriend and I drove away from the bar on my way home.

I went through a green light and hit the back of a car that was
crossing the intersection running a red light. I immediately got
pulled over and failed the sobriety test with flying colors. I blew a .24. I spent the night in jail, got out the next day and had to go straight to work.

The months after brought about lawyers fees and court fees, and state
sponsored alcohol classes. Then I realized that I had an addiction
problem. I started searching for inpatient drug rehab programs. I
felt I needed to separate myself from my surroundings and go get
myself clean. Not only did I feel I had an alcohol addiction problem, but also a drug addiction, I was using pharmaceutical drugs to balance out the effects of my use of recreational drugs.

I found a drug rehab program that helped me overcome my addiction. There is a
light at the end of the tunnel. You just need to search for a drug
rehab center
that is right for you.

My son was struggling in his junior year of high school. My husband and I took him to psychiatrists and psychologists who told us that he suffered from ADHD. The doctors prescribed him Adderal. From this point, the problems that we noticed with him spun out of control. He stopped going to school and dropped out. He was arrested for selling his prescription of Adderal to kids at a local middle school.

We soon figured out that kids like to crush this up and snort it like cocaine. We sent our son to a California drug rehab , where we live. The program took a holistic approach to working with our son to help him with his addiction.

At first a counselor came out and met with our son. This counselor was easily able to relate to our son and made the transition to entering the rehab center extremely pleasant. The counselor keeps in touch with us and our son regularly to check up on him.

Many parents ignore, or just don’t see the problems that their children are faced with. Get in touch with professionals trained in addictions, these people are there to help and can find you a non 12 step rehab .

I felt I had to make an intervention with my boyfriend and his family.  This was the hardest thing to do. We had both finished college and we would party with our friends on the weekends. We all had jobs, but on the weekends we would indulge ourselves to cocaine. For most of us this was just a thing we did on the weekends and we could leave it at that.

Not for my boyfriend. He quit his job and began distributing cocaine to support his now raging addiction. I had to break up with him. He would call me early in the mornings on a cocaine high talking about ridiculous things.

I was worried for him. I began to look for effective drug rehabilitation on the internet and there were some sites that directed me to professionals who educated me on drug rehabilitation, what the causes for drug addiction could be, and that there are several new types of programs, holistic drug rehab and non 12 step programs that are statistically proven to be an effective means for solving drug addictions in people.

With the information I confronted my boyfriend with his parents and we all finally agreed on an non 12 step rehab . It has taken a little over a year, but I finally have my boyfriend back, and he is doing fine.

Why do so many people wait until its too late to get a loved one into a drug rehabilitation program? Many times they think the problem will go away or maybe that addiction is a problem in which a person can just quit? Either way, waiting for a person to hit rock bottom is about the worse philosphy around when trying to get a person off of drugs. Basically, your saying that this person has the ability to make good decisions and will make the obvious choice which is to enter into a drug rehabilitation program.

Well, unfortunately this is not going to happen. Its not like one day your loved one is going to wake up and have a life changing experience and realize they need help. So what a person has to do that loves this addicted individual unconditionally is set up a drug intervention and get them into a long term drug rehab. Long term drug rehabs offer the most effective type of drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs around.

When a person is in a treament center a long time, it allows for the counseling and life skills to work. Rather than just attending a few meetings and counseling sessions, longer termed programs allows for the individual to make changes in his or her life that are necessary for a successful recovery.

Inpatient Drug Rehab

How important is an inpatient drug rehab and why do they have the highest success rate?  Today we are going to cover several reasons why a person should stay away from an outpatient facility and really only consider entering an effective inpatient program.  There are several factors that make up this reason but the biggest one is success rate.

Most outpatient drug rehabs don't even offer any type of success rate because they don't have one.  Almost 100 percent of people that try outpatient relapse and fall deeper into their addiction to drugs or alcohol.  Sometimes these types of outpatient programs where people attend meetings for Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous are able to meet people who will participate in the use of drugs and alcohol.

Again the best type of drug rehab is one that is inpatient.  Inpatient drug rehabs are always the most effective type of program especially ones that are holistic and alternative.  Inpatient facilities that believe addiction is a choice rather than an incurable disease are much more suitable and have a higher recovery rate than traditional programs.  Most alternative rehabs that offer detox, counseling, life skills therapy and a therapeutic environment are you best choice in finding the most effective type of residential setting.
